The second weekend of our 2016 Club Championships saw another 143 PBs or first time swims out of 289 swims, with 34 consideration times and 12 qualifying times for next year’s Herts County Championships set or imrpoved. Three new age group records were set with Mila Brooke ( 7 yr old 25 free) breaking a record which had stood since 2007, Sam Gaines (14 yr old 50 breast) breaking a record set in 2009, and Alice Fender smashing the 15 yr old girls 100 IM record by more than a second. The evening ended with a thrilling girls medley skins competition which for the first time included a junior competition for under 13’s as well as the senior competition. The senior event was won by Alice Fender who beat off strong challenges from Eleanor Bevan, Keelin McKenna, Shona McKenna, Georgia Purkis and Rebecca Sewell, whilst the junior event was won by the youngest qualifier, Holly Robinson, who saw off challenges from Tilly Beckwith, Freya Beresford, Lois Goad, Millie Herbert and Emily Young; well done to everyone who took part!
