British National Record breakers

Hemel Masters travelled to Swansea to compete in prestigious British Masters & Senior age group long course meet.

Swimming against the top masters swimmers in the Great Britain Hemel performed well to secure a number of podium finishes.

The outstanding swim of the weekend came from the 4×100 240 plus medley team of Kevin Mc Kenna, Dave Pirrie, Mike Foskett and Mark Strakosch who broke the British National Record and bagged the British title. Additionally the team also were placed 2nd place in the 4×100 Free and 4×50 medley relay.

Top individual performer over the weekend was Dave Pirrie who secured the British title in the 100 Freestyle event and then went onto gain. Silver medals in the 200m (setting a new East Region Record) and 100m Breaststroke and a Bronze in the 50m.

Mike Foskett was another top performer delivering a couple of stunning swims in the 200 & 100 Backstoke events to gain Silver medals in both events and lowering momentarily his British Record in the 200 Back.

Joel Green competing in the Senior age group also had a fantastic weekend securing medals in the 200, 100 & 50 Back as well 3rd place in the 100 Fly.

Hilary Coulson competing in the ladies backstoke events nailed three top ten finishes the best position been 4th.

Kevin Mc Kenna competing in an extremely tough age group swam Personal Best times in a couple events.
