Following the departure of Paul Mackie, who has for the last few years coached our Masters section, to Australia we have re-appraised the roles played by our senior coaching team. With effect from Monday 27th March the Lead Coaches for the various training groups will be Tracey Stratford (Aquabears), Lauren Wilding (Sealions, Seals and Otters), Sarah Young (Junior and Development Squads), Alan Coldwell (County Squad), Oliver Waddington (Regional Squad) and Alan Doyle (Masters), all operating under the overall guidance of Head Coach Oliver.
We are delighted to welcome Sarah Young onto the senior coaching team. Sarah is a very experienced swimming teacher who has previously helped Lauren with her groups. Her willingness to take on Junior and Development has released Alan Coldwell to take responsibility for County Squad, and that in turn allows Alan Doyle to take over Masters.
Lead coaches are responsible for the planning and organisation of the squads on a day to day basis, nurturing individual development and monitoring progression of athletes/swimmers within each squad and should be your first point of contact for anything to do with your swimmer’s development. However they may not always coach all of the groups for which they are responsible, and may work across other squads within the club.
