Despite the last minute telephone calls to recruit volunteers, the gala ran very smoothly last night. Thank you to all those that helped – both existing and new helpers. These galas really can’t run without you!
We came a commendable 4th on the night – again with a lot of strong swims. This may not be the final position as this league awards bonus points for the number of “too fast (TF)” swims (the fewer achieved means more bonus points!).

We had a total of 14 PBs, with Dylan Kitchener getting a massive 10 seconds off his 50m back time. This was one of the two “too fasts (TF)” that we ranked up – a double edged sword in this gala; too fast for the gala but obviously a PB for the swimmer so do not be disappointed by this. We celebrate all our results.

In addition to the two TFs, we also had five 1st places – well done Ben Davies for both his individual events (100m Free and 100m Back), Freddie Turner in the 50m Breast, Jack Wright in the 50m Fly and Rosie Bundock in the 50m Back.

Again we lost points in the younger boys’ relays – only two boys were available for this age group, meaning that Ryan and Freddie were joined by older boys to ensure that they got to swim. We really need those younger boys to be available for these team galas.

Swimmers of the gala were Freddie Turner and Elise Beardsworth.
