7 Club Records fell at the East Region BAGCATs championships with long course times converted to short course.
Megan Pirrie broke 4 records out of 5 swims, all her own. She broke her 10 year girls’ 400m freestyle record of 5.50.08 in a time of 5.38.05. Her 100m breaststroke record of 1.42.11 fell to 1.39.40. Her 200m IM record of 3.07.40 is now set at 3.02.70 and, finally, she smashed her 400m IM record of 6.37.38, set at Counties, with a very impressive 6.29.10.
Thushira Kumerage broke two of his former records. He bettered his 10 years’ 100m freestyle time of 1.17.35 with a 1.16.70 and his 400m freestyle time fell from 5.42.95 to 5.32.80.
The other record to be broken was Lawrence Hall’s 2008 time of 10.37.49 in the 13-year boys’ 800m freestyle. Freddie Woodcock took this with a 9.43.30.
