13 Club records, 59 medals and 158 PBs marked a stunningly succesful weekend’s competition for Hemel swimmers at the Harpenden Legacy and Maxwell Open meets on the 4th and 5th October.
69 swimmers entered 220 events in the two competitions and with over 70% of swims producing PBs it was a very productive weekend.
Of the 13 new Club records set, some were over 8 years old and some were broken by two people in the same event! Congratulations to Aimee Abrey, Josh Gaines, Emily Jelfs, Lois Moore, Charlie Rayner, Grace Rayner, Tom Sherrifff, Paige Wilding and Freddie Woodcock. More details will follow when we’ve had a chance to draw breath and check all the details but special mention must be made of Lois who set 3 records in 4 swims.
Of the 59 medals, 15 were gold. Congratulations to Josh Gaines, Emily Jelfs, Charlie Rayner, Grace Rayner, Tom Sherriff, Paige Wilding, and Freddie Woodock – with a special mention for Head Coach Justin Langford’s gold in the 16 and over 50 free!
