Club records update

11/04/20150

A clutch of Club Records have been broken over recent weeks including new open records for Aimee Abrey, Tom Frewin, Lois Moore, Charlie Rayner, Grace Rayner and Tom Sherriff.

A number of short course records were set at Herts County Championships with Aimee taking the open 100 back, Tom Frewin the 200 breast, Lois the 50 back, Grace the 50 breast and Tom Sherriff the 200 and 400 free and the 400 IM.

Age group records were set at Counties by Holly Robinson (9) in the 50 back and 100 IM; the latter an impressive 2 second improvement on a record last set in 2006.  Millie Anderton (10) broke the 50 fly record set 6 years ago by a massive 2 seconds.  Georgia Purkis (12) confirmed her excellent performance at Counties with new records in the 200, 400 and 800 free and the 100 breast.  Max Jelfs (13) set a new 1500 free record by 16 seconds, taking the record under 18 minutes for the first time whilst Charlie Rayner (13) another swimmer who had an excellent Counties set new records in the 400 free, 200 breast, 50 and 100 fly.  Finally Alice Fender (14) set a new 800 free record.

At the Junior League Trials Grace Cawley (8) broke the 7 year old 25m records for the breast and fly.

With a number of long course meets scheduled over the next few weeks we can expect to see more records tumble, but Charlie Rayner got in on the act early at Sheffield setting new open records in the 50, 100 and 200 breast and 200 IM and a new age group record in the 50 free.

Congratulations to all our new record holders!
