Two Hemel Hempstead swimmers Charlie Rayner and Max Jelfs who are both aged 13 are to receive County honours having been selected to participate at the National Inter-County gala on the 19th October. The prestigious annual event is held at Ponds Forge in Sheffield where the National Championships are held each year in the summer. Each County selects its strongest squads for the 13,15 and 17 and under age groups based on the previous year.
The event sees the 39 Counties participating split into two Divisions, with the best swimmers in Britain representing their respective counties. Hertfordshire compete at the highest level in Division 1 having finished twelfth in last year’s competition. Both boys will compete in the 13 and under age group and will be exposed to competition from the cream of their age group in Britain.
