Another good weekend for Hemel swimmers in the second of three weekends of the 2017 Herts County Championships. Grace Cawley continued her outstanding championships with golds in the 200 free (in a new club age group record time) and 200 breast, silvers in the 50 breast and 200 back and bronze in the 50 back. Jack Christie had a good weekend with gold and the overall championship title in the 50 free and silver in the 50 breast and Shona McKenna won gold in the 100 IM. There were silvers for Georgia Purkis (200 breast), Holly Robinson (200 back – breaking a seven year old club record) and Josh Gaines (200 back), and bronzes for Seyi Bankole (50 breast), Rebecca Sewell (50 back), Finn Guest (50 back), Holly Robinson (200 breast) and Mattias Morse (200 breast). Joseph Coldwell broke an eight year old age group record in the 200 breast, Sam Gaines beat his own age group record in the 200 fly and Heidi Gibbens set a new age group record for the 200 breast. Others who achieved top eight finishes were Millie Anderton, Tilly Beckwith, Elliott Davies, Jonny Farrow, Alice Fender, Millie Herbert, Charlotte Hingston, Henry Newbury-Kemp and Tilly Stratford.
