The second weekend of Counties saw another excellent performance from Hemel swimmers with Eleanor Bevan winning her second gold of the competition in the 50 breast and Holly Robinson winning her first gold in the 200 breast as part of a Hemel clean sweep in the 10-11 yr old category with Grace Cawley winning silver and Elizabeth Kelly bronze. There were 6 other silvers, 3 other bronzes, 44 other top eight finishes, eight Club records were broken and there were 51 PBs, including two for Mattias Morse which were his first ever Regional qualifying times.
Silver medals were also won by Alice Fender (50 free), Josh Gaines (200 back), Max Jelfs (200 free – and also a bronze in the 200 back), Mattias Morse (50 and 200 breast) and Georgia Purkis (200 breast). Bronze medals were also won by Holly Robinson (100IM), Tom Sherriff (50 fly). Top eight finishes were achieved by Aimee Abrey, Leanne Abrey, Izzy Anderton, Millie Anderton, Reuben Balch, Seyi Bankole, Tilly Beckwith, Jack Christie, Jonny Farrow, Shona McKenna, Luke Pestaille and Paige Wilding.
Max Jelfs continued his hugely impressive run of form setting five age-group Club records in the 200 free, 50 & 200 back and the 50 & 200 fly making it nine records from ten swims in the competition to date. Shona McKenna and Alice Fender both broke the prevous 14 yr old 50 free record, with Alice holding the new record as well as breaking her existing 200 free record and setting a new record for the 100IM.
