The day consisted of 2 pool session one in the morning and afternoon; with pre and post pool muscular activation and release exercises. The gym session had our swimmers challenge using their own body weight and other functional gym equipment in multiple of exercises. The classroom session started and finished with some inspirational, swimming race video (2008 Beijing Olympic 4 x 100m freestyle men’s relay) and video journey of multiple medal Olympic athlete Natalie Coughlin. As part of the session our swimmers worked together to present, in their chaperone groups; nutritional, and hydration information to support optimal performances in training and competition.
Swimmers after the evening meal took a quick trip to local Lidl supermarket to get some food and drink supplies for the upcoming days and put the classroom session into practice, but then not.
