Hemel’s Regional qualifiers have now taken part in the concluding weekend of the ASA East Region Championships at the UEA in Norwich.
Frederick Woodcock, 11, added to his medal tally from the previous weekend with a silver in the 200m backstroke in a time of 2.44.91, just over a second outside the National Qualifying time. His final points score won him the BAGCATs Championships bronze medal in his age group.
Louis Mayhew, 12, made the final of the 200m backstroke and bettered his own personal record from the heats in a time of 2.37.17. He finished eighth overall in his age group.
Devon Prior, 11, and Lois Moore, 12, after solid performances in the girls’ 400m freestyle, both upped their game for the 200 metres event to put in some fast times. Devon then went on to score a personal best of 2.58.54 in the 200 IM, with Lois bettering her own record in the 100m freestyle with a 1.07.43.
Danielle Bayliss, 12, was just short of her personal best in the 100m backstroke, finishing in joint 11th place with a time of 1.17.10.
Arthur Woodcock,11, had a disappointing swim in the 200m backstroke, but succeeded in finishing in 16th place overall in his age group, making him the third swimmer from Hemel to gain a top twenty Regional position.
Hemel Hempstead Swimming Club came 14th in the medal table out of 28 medal-scoring clubs.
