On 22nd February a Hemel Team competed in Round Two of the Chiltern League at Dunstable, the league is time banded allowing Hemel to field a wide number of swimmers across the three rounds.
The team finished third on the night with the final results only being decided on the final relay with Hemel finishing in 3rd place only 5 points off the gala winners Leighton Buzzard.
The swimmers posted a stunning 57 personal best times which was even more impressive as Round One had produced 72 PBs. Swimmers of the gala went to Jake Smith and Deanna Coe for their performances on the night.
Our individual winners were Isabelle Warren in the 10 and under Girls 50m Breaststroke, Lauren Herlock in the Ladies 50m Butterfly, Ciaran Kilbane in the Boys 10 and under 50m Backstroke, Jake Smith in the Boys 12 and under 50m Butterfly, Elinor Ferguson in the Girls 10 and under 50m freestyle and Vanessa Parker in the Girls 14 and under 50m breaststroke.
We also had some relay winners in the Boys 14 and under 4 x 25m freestyle with Dylan Cohen, Alex Eades, Luke Carl and Charles Izzard, and also in the Girls 12 and under 4 x 25m freestyle relay with Deanna Coe, Clara-Mae Stidver, Jasmine Coe and Emily Kilbane.
Special mention goes to the list of swimmers who exceeded the too fast time, which although means the team lose points it also means they produced big personal best times in their races; Nicholas Martinez-Wise, Mael Jegu, Vanessa Parker and Clara-Mae Stidver, we also had some of the relay teams who swam too fast including the Boys 10 and under 4 x 25m medley relay including Nicholas Martinez-Wise, Ciaran Kilbane, James Issacs and Matthew Wood and the Boys 12 and under 4 x 25m freestyle relay including Jake Smith, Tyler O’Brien, Mael Jegu and Manas Kubal.
Big thanks to Richard Daniell who is Team Manager for the Chiltern Team
