Hemel Hempstead Swimming Club received confirmation this week that both its Girls and Boys Senior Relay Teams have been invited to compete at English National Championships in August following their bronze medal winning performances at the East Region competition in early May.
The girl’s team of Grace Rayner, Aimee Abrey, Lois Moore and Emily Jelfs have qualified for both the 4 x100 Freestyle and 4 x 100 Medley relays while the boys team of Tom Sherriff, Matt Sherriff, Jack Christie and Freddie Woodcock have qualified for the 4 x100 Freestyle relay. Jack missed out on qualifying for the English National Championships by an agonizing three hundredths of a second.
In further good news this week two of the relay squads, Jack Christie and Emily Jelfs, are to receive County honours for the first time having also been selected to swim for the Hertfordshire team at the East Region Inter-County gala on the 5th July at the Venue in Borehamwood.
Emily and Jack bring the number of Hemel Hempstead swimmers to represent Hertfordshire this season to five following the selection of Charlie Rayner, Georgia Purkis and Max Jelfs for events earlier this season..
