Master wins medals at Regionals

Masters swimmer and Aquabears helper, Dave Pirrie, recently returned from the European Championships in Cadiz, took part in the Eastern Regional Masters Championships held in Newmarket on 3rd October.

Dave competed in no less than 5 events on the one day.  He kicked off with a PB in his first event, the 400m freestyle, picking up a silver medal in the process.  In the 50 and 200m breaststroke he took bronze medals.  He came fourth in the 50m butterfly and fourth again in the 50m freestyle with another personal best time of 30.30.

Dave is amongst a growing number of top level Masters who represent our club, not only in specialised Masters events, but in league galas too, such as the Herts Major League.  Watch out for Pam Ware, a European top ten contender, who will be swimming for us in the Open category of the National League.
