Following the recent Government announcements, we can confirm that we will be able to return to training starting Saturday 1st August.
As you would expect, things will look a little different when we do get back in the pool. All of our activities will follow Government and Swim England guidance, and we will also need to comply with any procedures put in place by the pool operator, Everyone Active. Please rest assured that safety will be at the forefront of everything we do in returning to training. We have appointed a Covid Officer, Tara Taylor, who has already attended the appropriate Swim England training, and will ensure that we are all kept in line. In addition, the Committee will continue to meet regularly to ensure the return process works as well as it possibly can.
Please be aware that the position is ever changing, and you should check this page and the HHSC Community Facebook page regularly for updates.
It is also essential that you read the Covid-19 rules document before returning to training.
Unsurprisingly, we can’t have as many swimmers in the pools as we usually would, and not all swimmers will wish to swim at all sessions – more on fees below…
We will be operating a revised timetable (see below).
We will be operating a booking swimming using Swim Manager. Only swimmers who have registered for a session will be allowed to swim. This will allow us to control numbers in the pool, and conform with the Swim England guidelines (one swimmer per 6m2 for those interested). Booking will be available 7 days in advance.
Given the reduced capacity, we are NOT expecting swimmer to immediately book up EVERY session which is available to them! We need to ensure that all swimmers have a fair chance to swim – and the revised fee structure has also taken this into account…
We are aware that not all swimmers may wish to swim at some or all available sessions for a variety of reasons, including health concerns (for example when a swimmer or family member is particularly vulnerable), and also for financial reasons. We are therefore adopting a revised fee structure, which is intended to cater for as many cases as possible, while also considering the financial position of the club and the need to cover costs to say afloat. Needless to say, our costs will quickly escalate back to their pre-lockdown levels.
Fees will therefore be split into two components:
Please note that as places are limited and we do need to cover costs, any swimmer booking into a training session will be charged for that session regardless of attendance (cancellations can be made up to 24 hours before the session without incurring costs).
We continue to have discussions with EA regarding pool time and charges, so fees may well vary as time moves on and we have a better understanding of both costs and attendance.
