Seven New Club Records

23/05/20110

Seven club records have been broken so far this month as the club’s younger swimmers work their way up the ranks.

Megan Pirrie took three records.  Two were hers already – the 11 year girls’ 200m freestyle and 200m IM.  She also broke Hannah Bagley’s 50m breaststroke record at Peanuts by six hundredths with a time of 41.13.

Ben Garratt took two 10 year-old boys’ records from Freddie Woodcock, blasting the 200m freestyle record of 2.32.32 with a 2.26.66 in a magnificent swim at Guildford City Open.  He took the 200m IM record by two hundredths in a time of 2.54.45 at the same meet.

Max Jelfs laid claim to another Woodcock record in the 10 year boys’ 50m backstroke with a huge improvement on the 38.63 record time with a 36.57 swim at Peanuts.

Finally, Kyle Holmes knocked Tim Boardman off the record books, improving on the 39.95 12 year boys’ 50m breaststroke with his 38.20 in the second round of Peanuts.

Congratulations to all our great record-breakers.
