Huge Hemel Haul!
The HHSC Spring Development Meet included swimmers from Berkhamsted, Bracknell & Wokingham, Hatfield, Hemel Hempstead, Hertsmere Flyers, Hoddesden, Team Luton, Verulam and Watford Swimming Clubs competing in the two session gala.
Well done to everyone who competed and thank you to all the officials and helpers who volunteered their time to assist poolside and to all the sponsors, donors and advertisers.
Our swimmers achieved a massive 164 personal best times during the course of the day, resulting in 52 gold, 48 silver and 26 bronze medals.
Swimmers scooping more than 4 medals each were: Sam Gaines 4 gold, 1 silver, Sonny Carter 1 gold, 4 silver, 1 bronze, Ajay Gill 3 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze, Lauren Herlock 2 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze, Josh Keenen 4 gold, Keelin McKenna, 4 gold, Harrison Newbury-Kemp 2 gold, 2 bronze, Chloe Purkis, 2 silver, 3 bronze, Georgia Purkis, 2 gold, 2 silver, Rebecca Sewell, 2 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze and Jake Smith 4 silver medals.
In total 22 ‘speeding tickets’ were also awarded, which means the swimmer swam faster than the allowed entry times for the gala. Congratulations to the following Hemel swimmers Izzy Anderton, Holly Carter, Georgia Purkis, Emma Riley, Chloe Purkis, Leanne Abrey, Amber Stratford, Alisha Kan, Alice Fender, Molly McLoughlin, Jack Christie, Sam Garratt, Mattias Morse, Harrison Mills and Josh Gaines who were all awarded speeding tickets!
