I am very pleased to announce that HHSC has been selected for the Bagsof Help Campaign at Tesco’s in Hemel Hempstead during January and February. I must thank Karen Green for an absolutely sterling effort
to get us this far – now it’s down to the rest of us!
We need you to vote for the Club at any of the Hemel Tesco’s – we’re competing with two other projects for a donation with the campaign receiving the most tokens getting £4,000, second place £2,000 and third still enjoying a £1,000 donation. We will be grateful to receive any of these amounts – but the larger the better!
All we ask is that if you shop at one of the six Tesco’s in Hemel that you drop your little token in our HHSC “glass piggy bank” behind the tills – and of course ask your partner, friends, family and colleagues to do the same.
What will we do with the funds?
We will run much needed coaching courses. You may have seen lots of people poolside last weekend, these were mainly parents from Hemel on their first coaching course. We want to run more of these courses, but they don’t come cheap! It costs £1,000 to train someone from scratch to manage a training session. We can get pots of money from other sources to help, but a slug of money from Tesco would be hugely helpful.
What will more coaches give us?
Better coaching for more children. We will extend our reach to more local children, help more children get fit, help more children stay safe, give children the network of swimming – where they will make friends, outside of their school that can last a lifetime, and help them develop new skills such as communication and teamwork.
So please, whether it’s for lunch or the weekly shop go to Tesco’s as much as you can in January and February and drop your token into our piggy bank. We know that there are always lots of great causes to support, but just for these two months why not support us, because anything we can do to encourage our children to learn to swim can only be a very good thing.
