Day 1
Day 1 of the British Masters Long course Nationals at Swansea. The HHSC team got off to a great start securing gold and retaining their East Region Record in the 240+ year age group, with Hilary Coulson, Sian MacDonald, Mark Ayres & Mark Strakosch swimming the 4 x 200 Freestyle.
Earlier that morning, Mark Strakosch swum the 1500 freestyle with a 4th place finish. Hilary & Mark S went on to swim the 200 back, both with a 5th place finish. Dan Capozzi swam a Long Course PB in the 50 Fly, with Mark Ayres swimming an age group Long Course PB finishing 4th.
Sian took bronze in the 100 Breaststroke, with Mark A 5th, with another age group PB. Russ Simpson swam just outside his age group PB and Dave Pirrie finished the session off with a gold in his age group.
At the start of session 3, the mens 240+year team of Mark S, Dave, Dan and Mark A swam the 4×100 Medley relay, taking gold and retaining the East Regional record.
Dave went on to take silver in the 200 IM. Dan ended the day swimming the 100 Freestyle with a new LC PB, whilst Sian took 4th with a LC age group PB. Bringing to a close a very successful and enjoyable first day.
Day 2
Day 2 started with a gold from the men’s 240+ yr age group with Dan, Mark S, Mark A and Dave swimming the 4 x 50M freestyle🏅
Mark S swam the 100M Backstroke with Hilary taking 4th. The 240+yr team were back in the pool, ending session 4 with Dan, Dave, Mark A and Mark S swimming the 4 x 50M Medley relay taking silver.🥈Dan set 2 club records from his 50M freestyle relay leg & 50M backstroke leg of the medley relay.
Hilary, Sian, Dave and Mark S took silver in the 4 x100M Medley relay.🥈 Mark Ayres swam a new club record in the 65-69 age group in the 200M Freestyle with Mark S taking a 6th place.
Sian & Russ swam the 50M breaststroke with Dave swimming a new club record in the 65-69 age group and winning a bronze.🥉
Mark A, Dan & Dave swam the 100M Butterfly with all of them setting new age group records, with Mark A winning a Bronze and Dave the silver.🥉🥈
Mark S went on to swim the 800 freestyle finishing 5th. Finishing day 2 with a silver was the 4 x 100M Freestyle team of Hilary, Sian, Mark A and Dave.🥈
Day 3
Day 3 started with Hilary and Mark S swimming the 400 Freestyle. Hilary swimming a new Club Record in the 55-59 age group and Mark S taking 5th place. Hilary & Mark A swam the 50 Backstroke with Mark taking silver.🥈
Sian took silver in the 200M Breaststroke with a LC Age Group PB.🥈 Russ & Dave also swam the 200M Breaststroke with Dave taking Silver.🥈
Ending the session were the men’s 4 x 200M Freestyle team of Mark A, Dave, Mark S and Dan with a NEW East Regional Record and Gold.🏅👏
The final session saw the men’s 4 x 100M Freestyle team of Mark A, Dave, Russ and Dan taking gold.🏅
The final swim of the weekend came from club Chairman, Dan, swimming a new Club Record in the 50M Freestyle in the 40-44 age group.👏
