Hemel Hempstead Swim Club is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment for all its members. We want all our swimmers to enjoy participating in the sport and to support this, we need to ensure their health, safety and wellbeing remain a priority. All key Club personnel have the appropriate DBS checks and safeguarding training as are required of their role.
Safeguarding our swimmers is a collective responsibility and we work in partnership with our members to support our swimmers to achieve their full potential.
The role of the Welfare Officer provides a first point of contact for children and adults within the club who have a child safeguarding or a welfare concern. They also promote the importance of Wavepower – Swim England’s Safeguarding Policy. Wavepower is Swim England’s safeguarding policy and procedures document, and HHSC adheres strictly to this. It is available to read and to download via this link.
This ensures that all coaches, swimmers, parents, and volunteers are fully aware of the duty of care that we ALL have to our members.
As Club Welfare Officer Fiona Swain is the point of contact for any person who has a concern about safeguarding and welfare. To report any safeguarding or welfare concerns about an adult or child within the Club – please feel free to contact Fiona via email welfare@hhsc.org.uk.
