Volunteer Swimming Coach

Location: Hemel Hempstead Swimming Club (HHSC) Park Rd, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 1JS
Hours: Part-time, flexible, evenings/weekends as required
Commitment: Minimum 1 session per week, with flexibility for more

Are you interested in competitive swimming and would like to step into the world of coaching?

You may have a swimming background, an interest in fitness or perhaps you have coached other sports? Are you looking to try something new?  Hemel Hempstead Swimming Club (HHSC) is offering an exciting opportunity for volunteer coaches to gain hands-on experience while working alongside some of the most respected names in the sport. As a volunteer coach, you would join our friendly team, working alongside our experienced coaches and help lead our club into the next phase of its development.  Whilst coaching at the club, we will fund your development to gain official coaching qualifications.

About the role:

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals with a passion for developing young swimmers. This role is ideal for r aspiring coaches, swimmer teachers or anyone with an interest in sports who want to advance their skills and gain valuable experience in a supportive and high-performance environment.

You’ll be assisting and learning from a team of expert coaches, including:

  • Terry Davies – Former Olympic and Para Swimming Coach
  • Mark Horrod – Long standing member of our coaching team
  • Tony Rogers – National-level Coach with a proven track record of success
  • Tom Osborn – A homegrown HHSC talent who’s risen through the ranks to become a driving force in our coaching team

  • Team players who would like to play a part in the development of HHSC
  • DBS clearance (or willingness to undergo a check, funded by HHSC)
