Welcome to Foundation Training, the perfect starting point for aspiring swimmers aged 7 and above who are working towards achieving the Swim England Level 7 award. Joining us means embarking on an exciting journey of learning and growth, where you’ll not only improve your swimming skills but also forge new friendships and have a great time!
Our monthly new joiner assessments provide a friendly and supportive environment for you to showcase your abilities. During these sessions, our experienced coaches will evaluate your streamline technique and proficiency in a 25-meter front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke, plus a demonstration of butterfly or butterfly legs. To cap it off, we’ll invite you to bravely jump or dive into the deep end of the pool.
If you join HHSC, you’ll receive coaching to enhance your stroke technique and prepare you for competitive swimming. Under the guidance of our dedicated coaching team, led by Terry Davies(Level 4 Coach), Mat Craske, Nicola Evans and Dave Perrie, and supported by several enthusiastic Young Aquatic Helpers, our team of volunteers is committed to fostering an environment where swimmers thrive and enjoy every moment in the water.
Foundation Training 1 offers one hour of pool time per week, while Foundation Training 2 doubles the opportunity with two hours. Remember, the more time you spend in the water, the faster you’ll progress!
For those aiming to take their skills to the next level, progression to the Learn to Train Squad is determined through timed assessments conducted bimonthly.
