Hemel Hempstead Swimming Club ventured up to a sunny Whitlingham Country Park, in Norwich, for the Swim England 2018 East Region Open Water Championships.
The club had ten swimmers competing in three different disciplines, at 1km, 2km and 3km, with great results to match their efforts.
Despite the last minute telephone calls to recruit volunteers, the gala ran very smoothly last night. Thank you to all those that helped – both existing and new helpers. These galas really can’t run without you!
Hertfordshire ASA will once again be hosting the annual County Development Weekend over 24th and 25th February 2018 to enable coaches, teachers, officials, and volunteers to upskill, develop, and share ideas. Last year the event saw over 230 places filled by learners, and this year the aim is to attract even more! All events take place at the University of Hertfordshire Sports Village Havilland Campus, Mosquito Way, Hatfield AL10 9EU

| Saturday 30th September saw 9 swimmers go to Harlow for the Bishops Stortford Sprint meet bringing home 6 golds, 5 silvers and 8 bronze medals alongside lots of PBs |  |
| Congratulations to Alice Fender and Ashley Coombs who competed in their first English Nationals competition at Sheffield's Ponds Forge over the summer and to Joel Green who competed in the Welsh Nationals. Alice reached the final of the 200 free, setting a new open club record and Joel set 4 new age group records in five swims. |  |
| Hannah Bennett, Tony Gaines and Mike Foskett all succesfully represented the Club at the Masters World Championships in Budapest last week. Mike won a silver and set two British records for his age group whilst both he and Hannah also set new Club records |  |
