On Sunday 27th July our Masters swimmer Hilary Coulson, joined over 250 masters from across the Country to attend the Swim England Open Water National Masters Championship, held at Rother Valley County Park near Sheffield.

Competing in the 5K event for the first time at Nationals, Hilary swam 11 minutes quicker than her 2023 swim at the Dock2Dock 5K event. Swimming a massive PB to secure the 5K National Bronze in a time of 1hr 25mins 53 seconds, only 4 seconds off Silver.

With just a short break between events, Hilary went on to swim another massive PB in the 3K event. 4 minutes faster than last years Nationals, in a time of 51 mins 49 seconds. Although a faster swim than last year, only managing to finish 5th against the tough competition.

Very happy with the swims and times, and now setting new targets for the remaining Open Water events this summer.
